Captain’s report on TEGS Meeting at DENHAM Golf Club - Tuesday June 3rd, 2026

My sources tell me the TEGS were blessed with good breezy golfing weather. Clearly luck was on your side because soon after you teed off the storms abated and did not return until you were all pretty much back in the clubhouse.  John tells me the course was very well presented and in great nick, but with some tricky pin positions which meant it was very challenging.

The major individual prizes were won by, in 3rd place David Macdonald 31 points (on countback 15 back nine), in 2nd Brian Clark 31 points (16 back nine) but the runaway winner in 1st place and winning the O'Cedar Cup was Lionel Godfrey with 36 points – Congratulations!

Nearest the Pin on the 8th was won by Keith Waite and Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 11th was also won by Keith.

The team prize went to Brian Clark, Ken Proctor his guest Dan Proctor with a score of 74 points.

The Best Front 9 was won by Mark Cranstoun, and the Best Back 9 was won by Richard Carleton.

I understand play was very slow and lunch was delayed by an hour, but when it arrived it was excellent and well received.

Thank you to everyone who stepped up in my absence and made this an enjoyable day.

Our next meeting is at New Zealand on July 14th and I am hoping to be able to join you.
