Captain’s report on TEGS Meeting at BEACONSFIELD Golf Club - Tuesday April 21st 2026
When I arrived at the Club there was a chill in the air, but the forecast was good and by the time we teed off the sun was breaking through, and it turned out to be an ideal day for golf.
As always at Beaconsfield the course was very well presented, and the greens were in good condition for the time of the year.
The major individual prizes were won by, in 3rd place, Lionel Godfrey on 32 points with 15 points on the back 9, David Macdonald in 2nd with 32 points but with 17 points on the back 9 but the runaway winner in 1st place and winning the Mentholatum Cup was John Whitehead with 38 points – Congratulations!
Our three guests all returned good scores with a median of 32 and the winner Andrew Ratciliff scoring 33 points. Nearest the Pin on the 7th was won by John Greasley and Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 15th was won by Andrew Ratcliff.
The team prize went to Phil Moody, his guest Steve Whelan and David Macdonald with a score of 83 points.
The Best Front 9 was won by Norman Oldmeadow with 16 points, and the Best Back 9 was won by Keith Waite with 20 points.
The median score was 27 points.
We had an enjoyable lunch in the marquee. Phil said he will feedback our comments to the staff.
Our next meeting is at Ashridge on May 6th.
